So, its been awhile since we updated this blog but i just haven't found the time. So instead I'm gonna try to do a summary.
Last game yesterday and what a way to end it. We went out to the field with mixed feelings, always psyched to play but kinda sad its the last game to hurt some feelings. Overall the day was great, halloween costumes everywhere, and a lot of great games with pretty nice outcomes.
Season overall has been great playing, really growing in to the community over here as pump guys and spreading the word quite nicely. Its been 5-6 big games, a first ever (for us at least) speedball pump only game day and a few other games here and there. The gear has really worked well all season and the jerseys we got from our american brothers really help us stand out.
Teamwise, the season has had its ups and downs. Alex has decided to take a break from playing this year, focusing his money on his car. I have no doubt tho, that he will be back next season.
Simeon has played more this year, and pump only. Thats pretty figurative, he's a hard guy to drag out on the field. But he's still in, being a part of the team.
Pretty much at the same time Alex decided to rest for the season, a new guy named Kevin joined the team. Kevin is a straight up nice guy and has one of the most impressing pump collections I've seen here in sweden. He's the one who played the most with me at the end of the season and has really shown his dedication.
For me as a 'captain' its been a great first year. We have spread the word nicely and is looking to expand the team for the next season so that we have a great core that can play most games together. As of right now, were 4 guys but it would be nice to be 4-5 that always can represent the team.
As for the off-season, that will be a job for me. I will also be trying to get some RC Sweden jerseys for next season so that we can stand out even more. I'm thinking just to buy some jerseys and have them sent to the printer. Maybe some other swag, well see what happens.
As for play during the winter, i have start talking to a guy about using his reball arena to practice and drill, but that will mean we have to pick up some guys to the team.
Overall, its been a great first year for RC Sweden and we would like to thank Chris and all the other american guys for your support, jerseys, barrel bags and so on.
We would also like to thank our sponsors and supporters, the St!ffi barrels has worked flawless all season and our CCM guns shoots great. Hypersports (our local sponsor) has showed great support, stepping up to give us great deals on whatever we needed. Of course, a big thanks to MCB for the support to all teams, always great lurking around in there. If I've forgot anyone, sorry but thank you too!
Phew, that came out longer than i thought. As a ending, heres a picture of yesterday with me on the right and Kevin to the left. Note the jerseys and RC Army stickers. ;)
Take care everybody!
